Supply Chain & Procurement Manager (Fixed-Term Contract to Jan 2027)
Overview
This role leads the development and delivery of a robust procurement and supply chain strategy aligned with organisational goals. Working closely with Operations and senior stakeholders, the successful candidate will drive efficiency, resilience and continuous improvement across purchasing, inventory and supplier management. The position suits a hands-on leader who values collaboration, data-led decisions and sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement an end-to-end supply chain strategy supporting business growth and long-term objectives.
- Analyse market trends, demand patterns and supply risks to inform strategic decisions.
- Partner with senior management to ensure alignment between supply chain activity and wider business priorities.
- Lead, motivate and develop the procurement team, supporting ongoing professional and technical development.
Procurement & Inventory Management
- Oversee all purchasing and inventory control activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Forecast material and component requirements in line with production plans and sales forecasts.
- Optimise inventory levels to balance availability, cost control and operational efficiency.
- Act as ERP/MRP system champion for the materials function.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Rationalise and manage the approved supplier base while strengthening key supplier partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing, quality and service levels.
- Identify, assess and onboard new suppliers, including alternative and secondary sources to safeguard continuity of supply.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with manufacturing and operational needs.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency and business continuity plans.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions following disruptions or performance issues.
- Work cross-functionally to improve processes and support lean manufacturing principles.
Performance, Compliance & Sustainability
- Define, monitor and report on key performance indicators, providing clear insights to management.
- Use data and analytics to drive improvements, cost efficiencies and informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
- Embed sustainability into supply chain practices, working with suppliers to reduce environmental impact and improve responsible sourcing.
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong understanding of procurement and inventory control within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Proven background in procurement management, ideally within an international or matrix organisation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree in Business or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years\’ experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Contract Details
- Fixed-term contract running to January 2027.
