Job Title: Site Foreman/Woman

Location: Leinster Area

Job Type: Full-time

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Foreman/Woman to oversee and manage on-site construction activities for our clients based across the Leinster area. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision and Management:

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring that work progresses according to the project plan.
  • Monitor the project schedule and budget, making adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure that all work complies with the project\’s specifications and quality standards.

2. Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and direct a diverse team of construction workers, subcontractors, and laborers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
  • Motivate and guide the team to achieve project milestones and objectives.

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to identify and address any defects or issues.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures and processes to ensure that all work meets or exceeds project specifications.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Safety Management:

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to ensure all workers are aware of and follow safety procedures.
  • Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or safety violations, taking corrective actions as necessary to prevent future occurrences.

5. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Proactively identify and resolve construction-related issues and challenges as they arise.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to unexpected problems.
  • Make informed decisions that prioritize the project\’s success while considering time, cost, and quality.

6. Communication and Reporting:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between on-site workers, subcontractors, and project management.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, including any deviations from the plan, to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate project requirements, expectations, and any changes to the team to ensure alignment and understanding.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years\’ experience in a Site Foreman/Woman role or a similar supervisory position in construction.
  • Relevant third-level qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
  • A commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
