Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Groundworker and Concrete Finisher to join our team for a full-time position at Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare, with work extending across the Leinster area. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in groundworks and concrete finishing, looking to contribute to high-quality construction projects. The successful candidate will be expected to commence work immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Groundworks:

• Perform all aspects of groundworks, including site preparation, excavation, and leveling.
• Lay and compact foundations for various construction projects, ensuring a solid and stable base.
• Install and maintain drainage systems, ensuring proper water flow and structural integrity.
• Operate and maintain machinery and tools relevant to groundworks tasks.

2. Concrete Finishing:

• Prepare and pour concrete for various structural elements, including floors, walls, and foundations.
• Smooth, level, and finish surfaces using hand and power tools, ensuring a high-quality finish.
• Monitor the curing process and apply sealants or other protective coatings as required.
• Repair and restore damaged concrete surfaces, maintaining structural integrity.

3. Team Collaboration:

• Work effectively as part of a cohesive team, cooperating with other construction professionals, including site foremen, engineers, and laborers.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Assist in training and guiding less experienced team members when necessary.

4. Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Possess and maintain a valid Safepass Card, which is mandatory for this role.
• Hold a Manual Handling Certificate (preferred), demonstrating your commitment to safety and proper work practices.
• Possession of CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Tickets is a distinct advantage, further enhancing your qualifications.

5. Punctuality and Reliability:

• Exhibit a strong commitment to punctuality and reliability, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule.
• Maintain consistent attendance and actively contribute to project deadlines.

6. Attention to Detail:

• Demonstrate a keen eye for detail in all aspects of your work, ensuring that finished products meet the highest standards of quality.
• Regularly inspect work to identify and rectify any issues before project completion.

7. Communication:

• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
• Provide updates on task progress, potential challenges, and required resources.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of proven experience in groundworks and concrete finishing is required. Experience with tasks such as excavation, foundation laying, drainage systems, and concrete pouring is essential.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Safepass Card (Required): This is mandatory for site access and work.
  • Manual Handling Certificate (Preferred): This certification indicates your understanding of safe manual handling practices.
  • CSCS Tickets (Advantageous): Holding relevant CSCS tickets will be considered a significant asset.
• Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required for commuting to various job sites within the Leinster area.

Work Location:

• In-Person: This role requires on-site work at Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare, with potential travel to other locations within the Leinster area. Applicants must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to the area before starting work.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: Starting from €18.99 per hour, with potential for overtime pay.
• Schedule: Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, with a total of 40 hours per week.
• Overtime Pay: Supplemental pay is available for hours worked beyond the standard schedule.
