Salary: Starting from €31,000 per annum (DOE)
Reporting To: Transport Supervisor
Working Hours: 10:00-18:00, Monday to Friday (flexibility required)
Main Purpose of the Job
Driving force is recruiting for a Transport Planner for full time, permanent position to join a dynamic team and play a key role in managing the day-to-day activities of a fast-paced and complex transport/distribution operation. While the core shift is 10:00-18:00, Monday to Friday, flexibility may be required to provide cover for the wider Transport Team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Plan daily driver routes in full compliance with transport regulations, including Tachographs, drivers\’ hours, and SOPs, using company IT systems.

Develop and refine the transport delivery schedule to enhance service levels for customers and internal stakeholders.

Ensure all fleet and driver operations meet legislative guidelines, escalating and rectifying any breaches immediately.

Liaise with drivers and third-party carriers to address transport-related queries.

Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure timely dispatch of all loads.

Take full ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.

Support day-to-day operations to help achieve departmental and company KPIs.

Review and monitor driver performance using appropriate IT systems.

Monitor and report on Tachograph records and driver working hours.

Monitor and report on driver performance using tools such as Cubo and Orbcomm.

Liaise closely with the Maintenance Manager to support fleet maintenance scheduling.

Provide accurate input to the Operations Manager to support periodic reporting.
Requirements

Previous experience in transport planning or a similar role within the transport/distribution sector.

Strong understanding of transport regulations, including Tachographs and drivers\’ hours.

Proficiency in transport planning systems and route optimisation tools.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
