Airport Staff is inviting applications for a leading logistics company for the role of Transport Planner, managing vehicle scheduling, transport admin, and customer service. We\’re seeking candidates with experience, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. A forklift licence is a plus!

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning of domestic vehicles for transport, road freight, and logistics customers.
  • Monitoring vehicle utilisation, trunking performance, and load planning.
  • Managing transport administration and updating collection/delivery statuses.
  • Handling transport queries by liaising with other depots and departments.
  • Proactively working with the warehouse and drivers to ensure high-quality service.
  • Responding to enquiries and resolving issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Completing data within internal systems efficiently and accurately.
  • Processing new job data received from customers via mail, spreadsheet, or EDI.
  • Applying customer rates and supplier charges when required.
  • Communicating with the warehouse and yard staff on inbound trailer arrivals and offloading processes in line with customs procedures.
  • Assisting customers and drivers with enquiries over the phone.
  • Managing shipment tracking enquiries in a professional manner.
  • Relaying customer service queries to the appropriate teams and following up on their completion.
  • Ensuring driver debriefs are conducted with all returning drivers and that driver apps and handheld units are used correctly.
  • Ensuring transport routing and GPS systems are operational and in use at all times for the distribution fleet based in Shannon.

Skills Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similar environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, while being accountable for tasks and actions.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Must perform well under pressure.
  • Forklift licence (preferred).
